Tpms On 2004 Yukon Not Resetting

I have an 04 Yukon that I put on a new set of stock wheels. I can get the vehicle into learn mode using the light switch, and then starting at the driver front wheel and working clock wise around the vehicle, let the air out of the each valve until the vehicle chirps.

After the last wheel, and chirp, the vehicle does not sound the second chirp, but eventually times out. When I restart the vehicle the TPMS seem reset until 3 miles down the road, the TPMS returns a check tire pressure error.

Any suggestions why it will not sound the final chirp and hold the reset?

Had same issue with '07 Silverado. VERY aggravating. Something that IMHO shouldn't even be present in the first place, but such is life in the 21st century....

A tech told me that it is impossible to reprogram without the $300 GM scan tool, even though programming instructions are listed in the manual.

It's stuff like this that will keep people from buying again!! :D

Ya, that's a PITA, couldn't do it with the proceedure in the manual for either my 07 or 08 Silverado. I finally broke down and bought the OTC TPMS tool. It was a bunch of money, but I like tools and gizmos.
