Well my summer class finally is finished. Got a B in international accounting. So far I have 27 credits completed out of 30 total for a masters degree in engineering. 1 more course this coming spring and I should graduate again in May 2010.

I wish I could go to school for engineering,But I'm too dumb :D

Very good. Actually at school this week...training- Forensic Aspects of Death.

Don't worry.....in the real world, the engineers have to stay out of the way in order for the rest of the world to get anything done. :D They know "how" to do things in a virtual world, but usually can't actually "do" anything. You should see the run ins we all have with engineers that just don't understand why it won't work the way they dreamed it up. :D

Congrats though Ryan! I don't think many people will make it in the future without quite a bit of schooling.

While I do agree that this is true with MANY Engineers, to generalize and say all Engineers are this way is complete and utter bullshit. There are plenty of capable "hands on" Engineers (myself being one of them) out there.

But then again, no Engineers are quite capable of nailing down shingles. That requires way too much skill.

I see it all the time. I am a manufacturing engineer and some of the design folks cant understand the build part of it.

I have an ME degree, the masters will be in general engineering (bunch of classes, CFD, FEA, Fatigue, & mgmt classes)

yep, that's all it is........and that's all I do...... :D

My handle doesn't reflect the only trade we do. I wouldn't have to deal with engineers on roofs.

Didn't mean to "generalize". We paid a structural engineer $500 for him to say "ya, put two more screws in each truss, that'll be good" haha he never even seen the project with his own eyes.......

Sorry to get off the subject on your thread Ryan.

Manufacturing Engineer here finishing up in Dec. (thank god) and believe me I hear ya Ryan it is funny to try and have a sane discussion between an MFG and and Mechanical pretty interesting I might say. Starting my masters this semester also with 2 classes...congrats on the hard work though.

I would so love to go to school and study Forensics, but with working, it could be tough.

But getting 2 birds stoned at once would be kool!! :nono:

Yea at my school if you have so many undergrad hours and want to take grad classes and get accepted you pay undergrad prices for grad hours it is pretty sweet deal. I have a friend that just finished her undergrad in criminal justice and she works at the corners office (a little creepy I might say) but she works with the forensics group collecting samples for them sometimes from what I understand pretty cool stuff I might say.
