There is a lexan polish in the parts stores that with some effort works "OK", but not great. Can't remember who makes it...

Most auto parts stores sell a kit that does a great job restoring the "new" look to headlights.

The Meguiar's kit is supposed to be really good.

I did my headlights on my 97 last year with a kit that I bought from Parts source.

It came with 2000, 1500 and a 1000 grit sandpaper, follow the directions and use plenty of lube and then follow up with polish and you will be surprised at the outcome.

 

I would also suggest to check out www.autopia.org there is alot of detailed info/pics etc there to help you do it correctley the first time. It is not that difficult, just time consuming but that time can be cut in half if you have a polisher/buffer. Good Luck

You can buy the kits or simply buy some wet or dry paper in the appropriate grits and use common automotive rubbing/polishing compounds.

 

Depending on how bad you plastic is, it may be necessary to go to a grit courser than provided in those kits. Crazing and yellowing can be shallow or deep. Kits provide a very fine grit of paper to keep people from doing more harm than good. For deeply yellowed, crazed or pitted plastic you may have to go to 600 or even 400 grit to remove it, then to finer grits to remove the scratches from the papers and finally to polishing compounds.

The Meg's kit doesn't have sandpaper, it has a compound and a device you attach to a drill motor.

If the fogs are that bad, I would check to make sure the seal on them isn't worn out first. Started to do mine and realized that the fogs were bad because the seal on them had broken. One of the lenses was about ready to fall off too.
