Smoked a cocky little CRX

When I had my '99 5.3 Vortec GMC it was no problem to smoke any rice burner (except maybe those pesky turbos).  Since I've upgraded the Suburban 454 I haven't really had a chance to try it out on a ricer.  This afternoon I was getting gas and some cocky little punk in a CRX pulls up and leaves his rap on at 150 dB while getting cash from the ATM.  He had the stupid R symbol from the Integra R, and some stupid Autodynamics graphics and stuff, obviously THOUGHT he was fast.  So I paid, and left, and guess who was at the light next to me?  Yep...so when it turned green we took off and I was immediately far enough ahead to give him a wave (all 5 fingers, mind you) through the back window as he ate my dust.  It was quite a long stretch and I was WAY ahead of him, so I backed off a little and as he came up I got into again.  Of course, I had to hit the brakes first, what with the 6000 lbs or so I was toting around, so then he swerved in front of me before the next light, but this was a good mile or more from the first light, so I think we both know my 6000 lbs blew him away.  I hope he's still rubbing his head trying to figure out how he got beat by an old Suburban!!

Jeff

P.S.  In no way am I endorsing street racing, in fact, it's pretty stupid, but we all do stupid stuff every now and then.  At least I do stupid stuff well, right?

nothing wrong with chewing up and spitting out a ricer now and then.  Whats funny is that even though you crushed him, I bet he went home thinking he won.  He had to of, i meen, all those decals had to increase his 0-60 by at least 4 seconds.  lol.

Cool.  You should find him around town sometime and tell him you'll pop loose a few spark plug wires and give him a head start next time. LOL  It's always good to burst a punks bubble.

I in no way condone street racing either, well not in my 4wd anyway!

I love the smell of burnt rice in the morning......and afternoon and evening too.

I'm glad that you enjoyed showing that kid something, but please edit the title of this post. If you read it real fast, it gets a very different first reaction than (I'm sure) you intended.

NO, Jeff, I'm begging now. Please edit the title and subtitle to this post.

I may have the mind of a 13 year old, but I cannot read the title without laughing!

Hey Jeff I also own one of those pesky 4 cylinder turbos that is turning a 13.80 in the quater mile. I do not think you can do that plus I get 25 mpg. I am not here to slam you just to tell you watch out what you might want to race. It may have the last laugh. I agree with the punks with the go fast mufflers that sound like a muffled fart and the pull back car wings but watch out some are fast.

Yes, I am quite frightened by a car weighing one third what mine does that can beat me!

I have no problem with REAL cars that go fast.  but it's pretty easy to spot the fakes...the Integra R on the hood and deck lid were the first giveaway.  I respect anyone with a fast car, but posers are posers, and I happily show them the rear of whatever I may be driving at the time, whether it's my Sub or my Vette.

Half the weight and half the c.i. Seems like your doing some double talking here. Lets see 5.7 v/s 2.6 that sounds fair Ya right. Sounds like you need more bang out of that 5.7 and as for your Vette show me a time slip. My run was on regular tires. I can shave a half second off that with a little more boost and different tires. I see your lips moving but I can' here what your saying, or are you talking out of the other side of your mouth. DOOOOOOOOOOOOO
