Removing Onstar Or Unplugging Onstar

I have seen this question asked a couple of times, but it seems that no one knows for sure. I have a 2009 GMC SIERRA EXT CAB SLE. I know there are fights about removing the onstar. I just don't want a cell phone antenna right above my head (I've worked for cell phone companies and they have waivers you sign about the SAR radaition) I don't know it if it true, I just don't want it.

 

Can anyone tell me how to 100% sure turn the power off only to the onstar, or where it is located to pull the plug.

 

When I searched the board I found that if you remove FUSE #22 (DIC) on the side of the dash, it will turn the Onstar light off. My question is it only turning off the electronic buttons and the antenna is still working. or is it you can't call out because the speaker and buttons have no power?

 

Also FUSE #22 (DIC) is there anything else running on that fuse?

There were a bunch of guesses on the other post. The 2009 SLE is different, there is no INFO or COMM fuse on any fuse box.

Onstar has to be disabled when using the Hypertech performance program, which I installed in my '07 -- shouldn't be any different for '09 .

#47 is Power take off on the 2009 . Yes it is very different everything is changed.

The only sattelite connection OnStar has is a receive only GPS, the phone and all that is over the cellular system.

Frankly I'd be more concerned about radiation from medical and dental x rays than this. To each his own though. Glad you got it shut off apparently.

Hey I was just wondering if anyone has ever used the OnStar buttons for something else, like some accessories? I don't know if it has been done or is even possible, just a thought.
