Odd things happen in life.

I was actually in front of that very building today. I got there before much of the fire and rescue personnel but didn't know what had happened. There was glass everywhere for about a block in all directions. The plane disappeared into the building, so most of us thought the building had suffered some kind of explosion.

Cops, Fire, and EMS folks came along and sent us all packing pretty quickly. I looped back around on the 183, just to take a few pictures. Not really much here that you probably have not seen on the news, but here they are.

As expected traffic became a nightmare soon after.

The plane actually entered the right side of the building but most of the other glasses were blown out by the explosion.

This is the impact side. Bottom center hole is where the plane went in. Damn near hit the ground first!

Here is a closer look at the other (non impact) side of the building.

Last I read, one person (plus the dingleberry pilot) died.

Not that I think this guy was in the right, but these weren't exactly innocent people........It was a branch of the IRS! LOL :D

Cool pics. :)

I just heard about this on one of the blogs I frequent. Some of the liberal sites are making the unfounded claim that he was a "teabagger". I just hope this doesn't delay my refund. :)

Great pics by the way and thanks for sharing 'em.

That's pretty crazy.. It's sad that an innocent person lost their life. :)

It is sad... but he was trying to kill a lot more. Thankfully his last act was almost a total failure.

Yeah...His last act, like his tax record, was a failure :(

Here's something interesting that goes with this story and kinda crazy... the widow of the guy that was flying the plane is being sued by the widow of the guy that was killed... talk about suing just to try to make a little money. I wonder how many ambulance chasers were trying to get this case????

What is the world coming to? Everybodys sues over the drop of a hat. I say, take them both out back and let them duke it out.. one standing wins.

That does not surprise me at all. We Americans are especially litigious and too many of us are looking for a reason to sue somebody. Hey, it's the "get rich quick" scheme that actually (usually) works. I am even guilty of it to a certain extent. Had a friend cause an accident (made a last minute lane change, saw the lane was backed up and cut back into the lane he was in only to be hit by a young lady) years ago. Since he was in the lane the woman was found at fault and it happened so quick she did not realize he had cut in front of her. I was sitting where the impact was and took the brunt of it. He convinced me to get a lawyer and he carried his "injuries" to the fullest extent, only to be paid for the car and medical bills (about $3000). I stopped pursuing it after talking to the lawyer, but they kept after the insurance company and a few months later I got a letter stating I had a $500 settlement. Easy money, but also dirty money in my mind. That didn't stop me from spending it, though.
