Advice On Making Ss P/s Lines

Recommended Posts

Posted

I replaced my P/S pressure line last summer with a GM part and it's leaking at the rubber and metal connection again. This part isn't available aftermarket and the OEM part lists for $150. I don't have experience working with SS braided lines but I'm considering making up one using Russell Performance line and fittings. Does anyone have experience doing this and can offer some advice and tips? My priority is performance and I'm assuming fabricating a custom line would last a lot longer since it won't have the rubber to metal connection that always fails on the stock lines. Also, can anyone verify the size of the P/S fittings and lines needed for an '02 Yukon Denali? It looks like there are two options: -3 and -4.
