I plan on buying a new buffer this year. Looking at the PC 7424. Anyone have input on this unit, alternatives, or good places to buy. I am less concerned with low price but rather reputable companies that ship quickly and stand behind their products.

I bought mine at lowes under the model #7336SP...it is identical to the 7424. The mounting plate, pads, and polishes I bought from properautocare.com.

I love my PC...it gives great results when coupled with the right products and right techniques...

I got mine at either www.autogeet.net or www.detailiedimage.com. If you look around on these two sites, you can get the PC in a packaged deal with a variety of pads that makes it a heck of a bargain. I just used my PC on the truck this past week and it did a great job. One thing I might have done differently is get the 4" backing plate and matching pads instead of the 6" ones. The smaller pads would be better for getting into narrower buffing areas.

I don't have any first hand experience, but at the detailing shop were I work, we have a variable speed dewalt, not sure of the model number, and the guys really like it. But I think both porter cable and dewalt are good brands

Just got the 7424xp polishing kit from auto geek. Came with 5 pads of your choice, cleaner and conditioner, and 2 extra pads for $196 on sale. DEFINITELY RECOMMEND auto geek and the 7424xp. Well worth the money and auto geek has very good deals. Even send email confirmations to make sure you received the package. Also....when you order, use AGYOUTUBE for free shipping!!!
