4.8/5.3 is 210 and 4.3 is like 160...remeber the guages aren't dead accurate

Good answer. With a stock tune and the stock factory thermostat (stamped 86ºC = 186.8ºF), my truck used to run at ~210ºF. After I changed to a Lingenfelter 180º thermostat (stamped 82ºC), my truck with its still-stock tune began running in the low 200s ºF (~7º difference from stock).

Just curious because this is the first vehicle ive ever owned that stayed a 210...just maken sure I didn't have a problem goin on...

Only vehicle I have owned lately that DIDN'T run @ 210-215 was my dodge dually, and it was a 12v cummins diesel. It swung from 140-200 all day long, loaded or not, freezing or not.

 

Something about the cooling system being designed to run at max load in 100 deg heat without overheating. Anything less and it swung like a pendulum.

have you owned it since new? it may have an aftermarket thermostat installed

210 is what i've seen all new factory thermostat equiped 5.3 and 6.0 ones run. My old 04 with a 5.3 also ran about 210.
