Possible To Add Onstar Kill Switch To 2008 Sierra?

Recommended Posts

I was wondering if the new kill switch feature in 2009+ vehicles with OnStar could be graphed into a 2008 Sierra with OnStar. Is the kill switch feature solely implemented in the OnStar box? If so, would replacing the 2008 OnStar box with one from a 2009 car work?

Edit: I'm referring to the remote capability by OnStar to shut down the truck remotely if it's stolen.

Thanks!

My Onstar has a kill switch?

he's referring to the stolen vehicle shut down/ ignition block that OnStar can remotely activate.

I seriously doubt it can be done. You can but the module in, but to get OnStar to support it would be another story.

......just dont renew it..........

trust me... you're not that interesting. no one wants to spy on you.

edit:  or did you mean you wanted to upgrade to this module so that onstar could kill the ignition if its stolen? its hard to tell anymore with all the conspiracy theorists on this board who have literally ripped out their modules

Have you read anything about the trouble those of us upgrading our OnStar units to add bluetooth have been going through?

The chances are slim to none that this will work.
