In the exhaust of my new truck, It looks like a second short muffler, behind the rear diff. Sorry the pic is the best I could get.

Is it possible it's some type of resonator, it looks like a cat with the heat shields on it. If your truck is a 6.2l it's a type resonator that goes with the straight out the back exhaust system.

Tough to tell but I think its the resonator.

I think it is the resonator I took off my truck back in 2008, replaced it with a 40 series Flowmaster muffler with no resonator.

It has a nice sound even stock, I just want it a touch louder. I had MBRP cat-backs on my 08 but they seem to get old after awhile and a long trip it was annoying

I think the stock 6.2l exhaust is perfect. It seems as though people in Dodge's around here are trying to out-do each other with loud exhausts and it's annoying. :)

Ours is quiet most of the time but when you get down on it, you definitely know there's something big under the hood. :)

Yeah, what is it about Dodge owners? I've noticed the same thing. (Not trying to hijack the thread; just making an observation.)

Same exact thing around here too. The Diesels like to smash it and throw black smoke everywhere too like it looks cool and sounds good. :)

and all they are doing is shortening the Lifespan of their Turbo.

What I did was I replaced the stock muffler with a Flowmaster 50 series and left the stock resonator at the end...it´s sounds pretty cool, nice rumble when stepping on the gas and on idle but it does not get annoying inside the cab being on the highway....I´m very satisfied with it....

When it comes to Dodge drivers...well I can see the same here...each of them is trying to be louder than the other :)

Seems to be a trend. If I wanted to drive a tractor, I'd have bought a John Deere.

My 6.2L came with Corsa's, so it didn't have factory exhaust. Does pulling the resonator make it louded/throatier? Main purpose is to kill the drone in the cab when crusing on the highway. Just wondering what the full effect of pulling it is.
