Power Seat Swap

I'd like to swap in a power seat into my hd. Its an ls but no power seat or steering wheel controls. Kind of bummed but w/e. I dont need the 6 way or heated leather like the ones that come in the h2's or tahoes, just the standard 3 way seats. Its much more comfortable, I think, and I can sit lower in the cabin, unlike my manual seat which makes me feel like i'm in a big rig. I'm a little tall so being lower will be nice too. I looked at the plugs for both and the ones coming in look to be identical, 4 wires but the seat plug is for the manual only has two wires. Other than that, looks to be a direct fit. Now will I have to reprogram the computer to accomodate this seat or will it just work right away?

Installing a power seat in the place of a manual seat will require some heavy duty power wiring. The harness won't have the power and ground leads in it (or at least the ones we have seen did not). It can be done, but it takes some wiring.

Like i said above. the plug coming in on the manual seat, HAS the same wires as the truck with the power seat. The seat plug only has less wires on the manual seat. Looks to me that the power wire and ground is already there. Prob need a fuse or relay for the under hood panel, but as for the wiring it looks to be there.

I bet it's got the fuse and everything already there. Just find a seat with the right connector and throw it in.

AH! I misread your post. If all of the wires are there in the harness, you'll probably have to connect the power lead in the power terminal box under the hood. There should be a space for a relay as well.

You may have lucked out!

Just to clarify on this,,, the wires coming up through the carpet to the seat are exactly the same and in the same orientation on the plug itself no matter if you have power seats or not, HOWEVER the plugs are different, what a shame. So i bolted the seat in, popped out the metal pin connectors and just slid the connectors directly over the corresponding pin. No added fusing, no problems and power seat instantly, ah so much more comfortable.

I know this thread has been dead for a while but can anyone help with an Install of a power driver seat in a 2006 Silverado WT? The seat came from a 2003 Silverado. Any pics or info helps. Thank you!
