Truck Pulling With 03 6.0

Thinking bout trying out a truck pull next weekend with my 2003 Chevy 2500HD Ext Cab 6.0 was wondering if anything i should do to it before i pull. its stock but will have leveling keys blocks and 295s on it before. its a 7000 pound pull any advice would help guys thanks and i have never done it so just curious on how to pull

Hit up a scale and get yourself as close to the limit as possible putting any weight you add as far forward as possible. Air down the front tires maybe a little and probably air the rears up quite a bit, they will be loaded the most. You will also want to strap together your rear springs (strap the overload to the rest of the pack, some people even block the rear to limit travel) and if you have your torsion bars raised you may want to lower them some. You want your hitch point to be as high as possible and as far forward to the axle as possible. I would probably pull in 4Lo and try to hold it as close to redline as possible 1st, those tires are probably way too big for the amount of @ss your truck has to throw around with a sled behind it to go into any other gear. I'd raise the rev limiter if I had any means to do so also as that will help considerably. What is your rear gear? If you don't have it regeared to a 4.88 or something, definitely stick with redline in 1st gear. Lastly, try not to bounce off the rev limiter, modulate throttle to keep it at the limit so that you don't kill momentum.

2. Put truck in 4LO

3. Trans. in 1st

4. GAS.

i have a 4.10 gear but this is helpin out guys i appreciate keep it goin. just picked up some dc1 blacks as well so the truck is having a good week little lift new tires and new rims and oil change and cleanin woo wee

I would do all of the above and then set aside about 3 to 4 grand of cold hard cash to fix the stuff you break... especialy if its your daily driver.

Be careful the tie-rod ends dont like this sometimes they will snap.
