Mirrors: Painted Or Chrome

Currently I have a Black with Chrome door handles and chrome grill insert and so i don't want to over chrome it but if it would look good...just not sure.

its what im doing. Paint the upper part, and chrome the bottom half, just like the new escalades.

I bought the paint and clear to do mine last weekend. I did not see any primer that was for plastic. I will be doing this project pretty soon.

Does GM still sell the pre-painted mirror covers? They're direct replacements of the bare plastic ones on the mirrors already. That way you wouldn't have to worry about a crappy DIY paint and clear job.

Mine came from the factory chrome, but I painted em' white.
