Silverado 1500 Tailgate Cap & Handle

Hey guys, about to buy my first pickup truck and have a quick question for you. Love the truck I'm about to buy, Silverado 1500 crew. The only thing I don't like is the black tailgate cap and black tailgate handle. Getting a summit white or white diamond truck. Was wondering if there is anyway to match the handle and tailgate cap to the truck. Thanks in advance for the help. Love reading this forum.

Yeah, you can always color match the plastic........ Great to have ya on the forum. Just remember if you buy a truck you now have to post pictures or a ban is in order..... jk, but we are picture junkies on here..

the tailgate handle can be color matched no problem, I did mine. The problem with doing the same with the tailgate cap is that the cap will see some rubbing and wear that will damage the paint, it gets a lot more wear in that area than anywhere else on the truck, hence putting a cap there in the first place.

Haha wear on the tail gate cap?????? Mine is 12 years old I have managed 1 scratch. It was put on by a jerk at the local Honda ATV shop......... he F€£¶©? my 4wheeler and scratched my cap on my gate....

What year model truck are you planning to buy? I have the white tailgate handle got the GMT-800 trucks.
