P0455 & P0449

Ok guys,

 

I have a '03 Silverado Z71 and my CEL came on. I am getting the above two codes. I've been monitoring this for about a week. The first few days I was just getting the P0455, then the P0449 popped up three days later. Back in March of 2007 I was getting just the P0449 and after some research, I replaced my canister vent solenoid valve #15759044 and all has been good for the past 45k miles. I'm tempted to just replace it again and buy a new gas cap just to see what happens. Both those parts would be cheaper than taking it to the dealer.

 

Anyone have these two codes before? If so, what parts did you need to replace?

Just as an update. I ended up replacing my canister vent solenoid valve #15759044. Yes, I found the old GM part only $30. Told the parts guy I didn't want the $190 upgrade. After five days, not seeing any more codes with my reader. Just an FYI to anyone replacing this valve, be prepared, it's a real PITA!!!
