looking for some new tires for my 08 3500 HD but am having a hard time finding something I like and something that I can get seems many dealers have them on back order,I am thinking of some BFG rugged trails but was wondering what some of you are running on your HDs?mine are the 265/70/17 tires, does anyone recommend ones they like or ones to stay away from?

BFG Commercial T/A's is what I have on the rear of mine. They handle loads very well. Traction is great in all weather conditions. When my transforce HT Firestones wear out I will be putting BFG's on the front as well.

Ive always been a goodyear guy VS goodrich. that new duratrac has great reviews, is load E and has the extra ply/s in the side wall

Personally the best truck tire I have ever driven on is the Michelen LTX M/S. They are pricey but for traction and longevity I don't think there is a better tire on the market. They are quiet on the highway and well siped for excellent snow and ice traction.

Depending on driving conditions you should expect 60k to 100k miles out of these tires.

I see tirerack has these tires and the Rugged Trails both in stock. Walmart can usually order in anything you want for a good price.

Check out the goodyear duratracs. Heard a lot of good things on them. Just put a set on my truck and love them so far. I personally don't care for the Michellins. They ride nice but won't last long. Put a set on my buddy's 3/4 dodge cummins. Did the alignment myself and they were bald in no time. Just my 2 cents.

those are really nice! are they 285s?? I just got a set of 265 mastercraft A/T2s im happy with them but i want a Mud terrain tire next time for the sick off road look with the beefy sidewall and tread pattern but hey, maybe ill consider those duratracs because they look pretty nice!

Michelin LTX AT/2's. Semi-aggressive tread that works great in mud and snow. I have over 30k on mine and they still look like new. Was always a BFG/Goodyear guy until I bought these. Now, I'm not looking back. Just put a set on my GF's Jeep too. Worth every penny. :fume:

After 2 sets of Bridgestone Deuler AT Revo's that don't last for crap I am about to go with Michelin LTX AT/2's. Looking forward to some tires that don't wear out so fast.

You'll love the AT/2's. They are even factory installed on our trucks now. 18" forged HD wheels come with AT/2's wrapped around them.

I've seen so many of those Bridgestones on customers vehicles and they always want to rave about them until

I ask them how many miles they get to a set. They respond with a look similar to this..... :fume:

For my 08 Sierra 2500HD Duramax, I went with Michelin LTX-MS2. They carry an industry leading 70K wear warranty.

I went back to 265-70-17 Load E blackwall to be able to use the factory mudflaps on the front and rear. I was using

Nitto Terra Grappler. 285-70-17. What a junk tire for wear. They were wore out at 25K and I replaced them at 30K. Rotated and

balance every 5K miles with no towing.

On my wife's two Ford Explorer V8s, I have used 3 sets of the LTX-MS and they consistently provide better than 90K of wear

before 2/32nds is reached on a half ton vehicle.

I bought from America's Tire in Gresham, Oregon. They gave me an $80 allowance for poor Nitto wear, a $70 Michelin rebate,

and I paid $770 out the door for 4 tires.
