Hummvee, not a Hummer, but a military Hummvee. Ive always wanted to fix one up and have the ultimate hunting/towing/people hauling vehicle.

If I couldnt have that, Ide probably buy a Jeep Wrangler, and convert it to a CC pickup. Or maybe Ide go old school and get an International Harvester.

Im not a ford fan. I have driven my share and they were OK, but Im a GM guy from birth. My dad and my grandpa both drove GM since the late 80s.

I felt so betrayed when my dad went and bought a 2011 Ram 2500. I wasnt that impressed with it either. My first truck was a 87 Ram 150, but they dont make them like that any more. My step-grandpa (who was a ford guy) used to say, "If I had a one-eyed dog named Dodge, Ide poke his other eye out."

i really do not like chrysler products. just seem very low quality and ive seen to many bad things. so i would take any CCLB ford with a manual 7.3

I'd have this truck:

Thats sweet!!

Honestly, the most durable truck I've owned has been a 95 Ram 5.9. My first purchased truck. I modded that truck to hell and put 260k hard miles on it.. It only ever needed a fuel pump.. I grew up with Ford buddies, every body style Ford has felt and drove like a grandpa truck, this new style looks no different. If I bought another truck today, it would be a Dodge for sure.. I'd love a cummins, but Diesel is so high and I have no need for the 2500.

Dodge Ram power wagon hands down....Last generation

Close second Ford Raptor.

Will be the next truck for me, the price of a close to new one is actually not bad.

I Would get a new 3500 cummins manual , all fords are cheap pieces of poo, they have no idea how to design a quality interior.

however my dad would choose a Nissan frontier with a manual trans, such a shame you cant get sticks in gm trucks

i really like the looks of the f250's. i looked hard at the tundra's before i bought my sierra, they have a shit load of power, but i just didnt like the way the looked or drove. i never drove an f250, so my decision for it is based on looks alone

I dont like the new Superduty pickups. The interior looks cheap, and the seats arent very comfortable. The seats have no lumbar support at all, and the side bolsters are almost non-existant. We have an F350 at work and other than what I mentioned, its an alright rig. I sure wish they would have bought me a Sierra 3500 though.

If I were buying a new 2011 and couldn't get a GM, then I think an Outdoorsman regular cab Ram 2500 with anti slip diff, 4.10s and some other stuff would be in the driveway. With the latest Ram offerings, I would put them over an F-250. Plus the superduty is just plain ugly!

I would have a new Ford F150 Eco Boost with the FX4 package. But IF I could have any truck, i'd have a Raptor in quad cab, with the 6.2!

    • I get the same results with pictures. Then I figure it out. Then I forget. Screw it.
    • I guess I'm the only one on this forum who can't get effing pics to load here! Do you have to resize them to post, or am I just blocked from uploads?   I have the same luck with automotive electronics ... but this is the ONLY site on the net that I have this problem!   I'd post pics of what I'm working on ... but I CAN'T! 🤬       Just fabbed up the kickdown cable (had to extend the cable mount WAAAY out from the throttle shaft to get a full pull), and parts arrived for the fuel lines on the 940 carb conversion project. Should be able to drive this thing by the end of the day. If not for work, I'd have had this thing done SIX weeks ago.   Got the jetting sorted out last week. Had a real bad tip-in bog that I couldn't seem to correct. Friggin float height was over 11mm too HIGH! eBay purchase, so no wonder everything is screwed up right out of the box! I ended up with a larger dual-squirt accelerator pump jet anyway instead of the single. Also moved the 70 primary idle jet (4 sizes too big out of the box) to the secondary idle circuit, and installed a 57 in the primary. Runs great on the fuel bottle!    Still using the computer for ignition. Going to drive it first and see if I want to go through the project of installing an intermediate shaft with a distributor drive gear, so I can install a block-mounted distributor and run points, 100% computer free. I should do that anyway just from a simplicity / reliability / tunability standpoint. The electronics left me stranded last year a couple times! I can't tweak the timing to my liking right now because of the computer. Tried twisting the cam-driven distributor already ... and the damned thing just reverts back to where it was! That's infuriating. But if it runs well enough I might save that for next season.   Just driving it in and out of the shop to work on other projects, it feels 1,000% more responsive with the carburetor. Also fires MUCH faster when cranking. Can't wait to drive it and see if I got more than 114 ponies, lolol.
    • Triumph makes me think of cars not bikes. Especially with model names like the TR7, that was a Triumph car model too. Peak TR for me was the TR250. You could retain the post-war roadster looks, with an optional surrey hard top, but with an inline 6 engine instead of the TR4's anemic 4-cylinder, but still have a 4 speed, optional overdrive.   I know almost nothing about Triumph bikes, except that they exist. Good looking bikes though.   I don't know if I could just have one vehicle. The Silverado does it all except for fitting anywhere. But it leaves a void in real driving enjoyment, unless driving an extremely large sofa is your thing.   What did I do to my 'other' (muslce car - which one!?) vehicle lately. I took my '23 SS for a drive. It's only got 1600 miles. I keep reminding myself I shouldn't be so precious about this car. It likes to be driven. Needs to be driven. Life is short and if I don't enjoy it, someone else will. The other half calls it "the garage ornament".
    • Hey everyone, Thought we’d share our 40" SLIM Light Bar setup for the 2022+ Chevrolet Silverado 1500 for anyone looking at behind-the-grille lighting options.   The 40" bar sits behind the lower factory grille, so it stays pretty well hidden when it’s off. The mounting position is also adjustable, which helps with getting the bar positioned properly depending on the grille.   A few details on the setup:   40" SLIM LED light bar Fits 2022–2026 Silverado 1500 Spot + flood beam pattern White, amber, or white with amber DRL backglow Adjustable mounting position No cutting or drilling required Doesn't interfere with the active grille shutters Vehicle-specific mounting brackets       It’s a straightforward option for anyone who wants the coverage of a 40" bar but prefers to keep the front of the truck relatively stock-looking. Curious what the Silverado owners here prefer — hidden behind-the-grille lighting or an exposed bumper-mounted setup?
    • Yes. Absolutely. That doesn't mean I don't like and enjoy a variety of machines. I went for a time with no other vehicle than a 1976 Triumph TR7-V Tiger. Loved that bike and rode it 365 in any and all weather. I did not feel deprived of anything.
