just purchased my new 2011 5.3L CCSB LTZ 4x4 and unloaded a 2008 Avalanche that had engine problems at 22K miles. I may be too sensative to hearing noises right now...but I swear that on the Silverado I can hear an engine noise at low speed (25-35 mph), little excelleration (no load) and sounds like fluid being poured into a metal cylinder. Goes away at cruise. It could be just me......

That noise is probably oil pouring into one of the cylinders due to a failed AFM lifter. Time to trade it in for a 2012 model.

Why trade for a 2012, didn't know they were already out? Is there information that in 2012 there will be no mroe AFM?

Sry on the FONT....not good if its oil.....lifters were the issue on the Avalanche. This one has the Aluminum block engine and yes it has the 6 speed tranny.

 

Hate to say that if forced to trade again it may be to a Dodge 1-ton Power Wagon.
