I was walking out of work today to find that someone rear ended my truck while parked.......again. Second time in less than half a year and the freakin idiot didnt leave insurance or anything like that. I am freakin heated! I cant even look at my truck now without getting freakin pissed. I just do not see how people can be that damned careless in a parking lot. If you dont know how to park your vehicle or back it out of a spot DONT DRIVE IT!!! Im 18 and I drive better than half the idiots out here.

I hear you, i once had a girl back down a ditch, up into a parking lot down 8 lots hit my truck then drove away without even a note leaving her info, it took the police and legal threats for her to cough up the 900 bucks for the damage..her excuse was the sun was in her eyes and she was late for dance..wtf hit and run is a felony

Dude same thing happened to me 2 days ago parked in a parking deck while I was working. Luckily I work for a university fire safety and park in the public safety deck. The dispatch supervisor witnessed it happen but got the wrong plate number, well the officer that did my report took a ride through the parking deck the next day and found a car that had matching damage that was off by 1 plate number from the wintness. BINGO! Now i got her insurance and im going to milk it to the full extent of what i can get from this jerk for hitting my truck.

But it just sucks that assholes out there have the dam nerves to back into your vehicle and not even care to leave a note. They have this chick on camera, backing into my truck, getting out, looking at the damage and driving away....and now i got her info, i can file a complaint for leaving the scene of an accident...not her smartest move.

But good luck man, i hope it turns out better for you as it did for me

That sucks man!

Somebody took the mirror off my wife's 3 day old Camry earlier this year, taking a bite out of the door while they were at it. No note. She's the type of person that thinks cars are just a tool to be replaced every few years and rarely washes her car...Doesn't care all that much about it...But she was LIVID about it. Probably because she works at Farmers Insurance. In their HUGE national office. So the person that hit her car, didn't leave a note, and drove off, WORKS FOR AN AUTO INSURANCE COMPANY.

oh man all of this sucks. i hate ignorant people like that. if youre too stupid to pay attention properly atleast leave a note. look on the bright side, he hit you, but he likely has more damage than you do. and as mentioned above get a trailer hit, get a locking pin and leave it in there, i do that as does my old man and a buddy of mine. figure if anything theyre getting a nice new hole in their front end. just thought of a funny story, my buddy had an avalanche and had his reciever in, some guy in a g35 rear ended him at a light. said he felt a light nudge. got out, his hitch went through the rad and the g35 barely touched his bumper

I had a guy back into me as he was parking and not looking back. He then gave me bad insurance info. Long story short, I was able to suspend his license and tag for a year but if I don't sue him than its just 50 bux and its like it never happened. Thankfully that was a previous vehicle. I still know where he lives tho

Good find by that officer.

But I have a story:

One night while I was working with my public safety agency, one of our officers got a call of a property damage accident in a parking lot. She responds to the scene to find a note on this persons car...FROM A 17 YEAR OLD...stating that he/she was very sorry that he/she hit that other vehicle and left his/her phone number and address.

I mean...when things like that happen...you realize that there are good, honest people out there.

I was in a hit and run last week. A damned Deer hit me and ran! The nerve of the thing. Now I need a whole new driver's door. The animal couldn't even be considerate enough to hit my rear passenger door that needs to be repainted anyway...

Yeah hitches/balls/recievers whatever you feel like calling the big metal part that sticks out past the bumper are great to have but generally only work if rear ended. I've had 2 vehicles find out that yes you can use my truck to stop you but after that your car isn't going anywhere

2 weeks ago I walk out of the bank and notice my rear mud flap is crooked. ... wtf?

Upon further inspection it was caused by someone pulling into the spot next to me and swinging too wide, so they hit my truck just behind the rear tire pushing the metal in. Car was gone, no insurance left, no witnesses and no security footage in that part of the lot.

I managed to "pull" the metal back into place and clean up the paint. You'd never notice unless I pointed it out.... but I can still tell that its slightly bent.

about 10 years ago I went into the bank to cash my check. As I went into the bank, I passed a State Police officer exiting the bank. When I get out of the bank, I notice my truck is no longer in the parking stall straight. There was car attempting to back out of the stall behind by truck (apparently had hit it once before and moved the truck over). The car backs out super fast and drills my truck again. She hit it so hard that the bumper of her car fell off and the trunk had severe damage. My back bumper was pushed in and the rear bed panel on the passenger side was pretty rippled. I was like great...I just passed the cop. I ran in front of her vehicle as she attempted to leave the scene. She almost ran me over. Then out of no where comes the trooper and he saves the day. She had no insurance, got nailed for hit and run (clearly trying to leave and the trooper saw this) and for driving with a suspended license. It cost me $500 (that was my deductible). She served no jail time and paid nothing to me. Sure she got into trouble and had to pay some fines. What good did that do me or my truck? I hate it when stuff like that happens. It happens way too often in this country.

most states have or are putting laws into effect that put uninsured drivers in a heap of trouble, you go to jail if you drive uninsured here and hit somebody...caught driving uninsured bye bye license and have fun with a very large ticket

Man that sucks, just remember to take a breath and know that you can get it fixed. Plus it could have been worse at least nobody was injured. That happened to the front of my truck and $1700 later, (insurance paid for it ) and I was all back and running....
