So in my survey for my new truck I mentioned how the Tires that came on it Suck, and are unfit for a 4x4. (Good year Wrangler ST) GM Calls me to tell me I can Buy a new set of tires if I want.

 

I know stock tires suck and I planned on buying new anyways but that is their idea of customer service? to call me and tell me that there are "many all terrain tires I can purchase to suit my needs" ?

 

 

 

I wasn't pissed about the tires but now i am that they would call me just to tell me to spend another 800 bucks when I just spent 25 grand with them lol

Same thing happened to me. But, to be fair, the dealers parts department offered me a deal on 4 Wrangler AT/S's for cheaper than anywhere else I could find. I told them I had a way of getting them mounted/balanced for free, and they came back with a really good offer. Beat TireRack, Goodyear, Sears, Mr.Tire, little online tire stores etc. Didn't take it though. No matter how good the deal is, $600 is $600... I just bought a $35,000 pick up for $28,000, I know some people in this country can afford to do that, pay the rest of their bills, and still have tons of play money, but I am not one of those people.. lol.

I pulled my Goodyear S/T's off after just 400 km. Sold them online for $450 and put a set of really good snows on...... Factory tires always suck, so I figured sell them while there new and get good ones in the spring....

What was it about the Goodyears that sucked?

 

I pulled my wheels and tires and replaced them because I didn't like the look of the wheels and wanted 20s.

" There are also many makes and models of trucks besides GM ones that I can purchase to suit my needs".

Not always. I am pretty happy with the Bridgestone Duellers my truck came with.

Also with crappy stock tires. Its a no win situation. Low cost wins every time.

Not sure about today, but in 08 only the Z71 came with A/T tires. No complaints on the Wrangle A/T that came on mine. They have been great tires, and have never been rebalanced (zero vibration).

how long did it take to get your survey??? ive been waiting for mine i have lots to say especially about the dealer..

 

Maybe a month? Plus or minus a week or two. Just enough time to have broken in the truck, gotten familiar with it, knew what I liked/didn't like etc. but close enough to buying that I remembered the entire process vividly. I have actually been very impressed with GM's contact, as well as the dealer, since purchasing the truck. They both ALWAYS want my opinion, want to make the experience better etc. but don't get too pushy. My experience with my dealer and GM so far (first new vehicle) reminds me a LOT of a very good waitress in a very good restaurant. They know the best way to serve you without being over bearing. :lol:

Did you look at the tires before you bought it? Mine came with Generals I knew They were junk.So I had to deal with it.

 

Yea, I did. They actually looked like decent "Light truck" tires. I knew they wouldn't do well on our WV property etc. but I figured they would be acceptable in rain/snow. Like a good all season car tire. I actually tested them out pretty good before I bought the truck, knowing new tires would be expensive. Got them wet in some puddles etc. The tires were actually pretty impressive for an LT until about 3-4,000 miles than they REALLY took a downturn. Fast. Dry traction is iffy, rain traction is like having bald tires in some cases. I don't wanna know what snow will be like. I knew OEM tires would be bad, I was just hoping to get a year out of them to save up for some good AT's. But, such is life. Hospital will be fine without my truck this year, they got a lot of new volunteers last year during the big storm.

      .30” of rain all month and it’s been weeks since that. “Mowed” our two properties today for the first time since July 2nd. It only took 30 minutes because all I had to do was level some weeds and saplings in a few problem areas. Everything else is dead.

      Dealer reported a failed shifter module assembly so the whole shifter is getting replaced. Yet another premature repair… up to $12,000+ in extended warranty payout in only 5 years and 80,000 miles!

      According to the dealer it’s an internal leak/failure of the compressor.  Again, another failure that shouldn’t happen at only 5 years and 80k miles.  For some reason the compressors must be hard to come by right now, because the truck’s been at the dealer almost a week and they just located a compressor at another dealer several states away today.  We’ll see if this fixes the issue.

      I'm not sure if this should be a reply on this thread or a new topic, let me know if it's out of place. This my first post. Thanks 85077522 - ACDelco GM Genuine Parts Brake Master Cylinders. Anyone else had to replace this brake master cylinder yet. I didn't do any brake work, it looks like new parts and I've had the truck for about 4k miles. When it started to throw codes I did the calibrations with a bidirectional scanner and got the codes to clear but they came back so i did the routine; base bleed, automated bleed and final base bleed. All that with Bosch ES16-32N fluid (please look it up). That seemed to fix it but 100ish miles later it failed again so I ran the same process but with a pressure bleeder this time and got the same results, fixed for 100ish miles. The original fluid looked bad and I thought I got most of it out. The codes; P25A2, C05B0-00, C2A1B. I can get them to clear but not for long. The C05B0 indicates a leak in the front circuit (which is bone dry) so I'm thinking of doing the bleed process on that front again today and I don't know if that's taboo to just do the front but at this point it seems like it's worth the try anyway. The new master cylinder/module unit is supposed to get here today. But now I'm pretty much convinced this install is over my head. I've called several shops and some mobile guys that I know but this thing is like radio active material scary wise. I did get 2 local shops say they should be able to do it, one says he has the SPS2 programing capability. And with the battery disconnected is there supposed to be pedal resistance, mine is to the floor, then if I pump it I can get some resistance.

      I wasn’t commenting on your post. Certainly wasn’t arguing. I was making an observation on my long term experience with supposedly proper length of driving for proper heat cycles. Works for me. Although I have seen water or vapor come out of exhaust when vehicles weren’t run very long and shut off. It’s very humid in the morning. Then hot and humid.
