My Truck Keeps Breakin!

Rant time. First, service engine soon for catalyst efficiency. Crap. Alright fine, 400$ for 2 cats and they are bolt on, no big deal I guess. Then i go to close my door, and it doesnt latch. Crap. Alright fine, its been cold its just frozen. So off come the door panel, brake clean the latch, immerse it in white grease, its fine for now. Driving home and I notice im gettin cold. Go to turn on the heat, realize its already on. Crap. Pull over, coolant level is fine, feel heater hoses, one is hot one is luke warm. Ok so I just have to flush out the heater core. While im doing this, I notice a progressive squealing noise. Crap. OOOOOOOOk so it needs the a/c belt, common issue with these. So now that all these issues have occurred, I turn down the radio and listen for anything else. Everytime I leave a stop light the rear end creaks, like its shifting. Crap. So either new shocks or leaf spring mounts need replacing. I also notice at a light the gas gauge moves back and forth for a minute or two, so either the gas tank baffles suck or the fuel sender is on its way out. Crap. :( And just for fun I beat the hell out of it to see if I can get a little more heat out of it, no go. But at 215k its still a riot to give her hell, shes quick! :(

As a side note, your truck has a crapload of miles, its suprising its just starting to "break" now...

ok so i know you are just ranting but at 215k this nickle and dime stuff should be expected. it all comes with wear and use. no point in complaining about it just man up and fix it

Mines been falling part for the last 15,000 miles....currently at 66,000.....I let the little stuff go and turn up the radio....oh wait...thats right, my front speakers don't work....I just take care of the big items to keep the truck running till it's paid off, then I'll go thru the whole thing and do some mods

It's alright dude everyone is allowed to rant. Sorry the shit hit the fan all at once im sure you expected it just not all at once. Good luck and happy pooping!

I have the heat issued (fixed one problem and another one comes up) and it has also started squealing lightly the last couple days, as well as a couple other minor things. I know how you feel. But we've got high mileage trucks, I expect stuff to break and look forward to learning how to fix it.

I'm hoping to hit 100,000 before anything real big goes wrong, seeing these high mileage trucks is encouraging.......right now I just have some nickle and dime stuff, plus some usual maintenance items.....shocks, I think I'm looking at front pads again (replaced with cheapies as per the wife), Trans service is overdue....probably could use a detail, waxed it twice in the past 4 years....wash it once in a while...it's a truck

My guess is its just how people respect their stuff my sierra i mean if you have people that just slam doors jump in kill the truck what do you expect?i always check my dipsticks before my trucks are ran.If i hear a noise in which i dont like i fix it or leave it alone.Ive owned a gmc for a while.never did any of my sierra nickel and dime. You cant complain about normal wear and tear parts like shocks, pad, rotors, plugs, etc every vehicle will need these parts replace one time or another its just time to get on with life.get over the hump with your sierra you will be glad you did.You should be thankful that your not me i have to bust my nuckels on a 92 f150 i have to rip out the tranny in 20 degree weather laying in the road.if it wasnt my buddy i wouldn't be doing it.

Wow 305k+ miles? You have an extremely high mileage truck. Till run like it was new? Mine does, except for the small stuff obviously

Yep, just like yours. Some small stuff but she runs real well. I regularly take it on three hour road trips without thinking twice.

thats a lot of miles... anytruck will have little annoying problems like that at that many miles.... wow that happened all in 1 day?

Yep, all in one day. Good news is that the heat fixed itself! Glad thats back on again, still need a blower motor and resistor. And tomorrow im going to pick up a new rad cap and maybe some of GM's spline grease, heard it was expensive, but i dont mind. I prefer to use factory stuff anyways. I was just mad cause like I said it happened in one day, usually the small stuff doesnt bother me at all.
