Finally found time to "pretty up" the fender wells and frame from almost 60K of wear.

2 cans of 3M professional undercoating per side allowed two coats of the fender wells and entire frame.

Will get camera pics up when I am done.

Undercoating would actually help in your situation.

I like to have fun with my truck but pay the price in extra maintenance. When we goto the beach (Pismo in CA and the Outter Banks in NC) most times we arrive at Hightide and are "forced" to drive the truck in the ocean :). This is rough on the truck and even worst than road salt but a good undercoating will help tremendously in the long run. Have done the frame 3 times now and still holding up good to rust. A good underbody wash at the base helps, it has jet washes in the ground that spray up to wash everything off. You can use most carwashes that have this feature, got to pay a little more but it does help wash all the salt away.

If you just let it go your not doing yourself any good. You could look into liquid undercoating also. We use it on our HMMWV's to prevent ocean rust after deep water fording.

Yeah, but your truck is much newer, and i live in really wet conditions where moistier can collect in between the frame and undercoating, every 3000 miles i change my oil, i coat my frame with the used oil and it works good. But next year i'm lifting my cab and removing the bed to clean up the frame, and i'm painting it with a high quality frame paint.

Looks pretty darn good. I am curious about the rubber strips you have in place there. Got any more good info you can share on them?

looks good man. i did that to my truck this fall. wheel wells, frame, front suspension, and the bottom of the rocker panels just so you can't see it when standing up. i used a rubberized rock paint. this spring im going to sand blast the whole bottom of the truck and rubberize paint the whole under carriage, axels, differentials, etc.
