I looked at two 2003 trucks today and both had DMax and Allison transmissions, but one of them had the Allison priced out at $1200.00 and the other one had it priced out at $2295.00, I don't understand the difference in the price anyone have any good ideas about why the difference. Both were 2500HD's Crew Cabs, one LS, the other LT.

With the LS model the manual tranny is the standard tranny...   With the LT model the standard tranny is the 4L80E.  Since the 4L80E is not available with the Dmax, they are basically giving you some $$$ credit towards the Allison in the LT model truck.  Therefore it is a cheaper upgrade in the LT model truck...

I hope that makes sense...  ???

The Allisons arent cheap.  We had to put a couple new Allison Model 3060 6Spd autos into a few Freightliner FL60's at work.  They were around 3000-3500 bucks a pop.  Im not sure what the 1000 Series in the HD's run as far as price.  I dont think its cheap.  I dont know if this helps you out any, just thought Id throw this in.   :thumb:
