hand held or custom tune, not sure if I want a custom tune since I don't have an extra PCM on hand

can get a diablosport Trinity, and switch back to stock anytime you want too! LOL

can change/adjust a bunch of things yourself whenever you want... and you can also get custom tuning done for it and your truck whenever you want...

you don't want a separate ECM... can't do that stuff anymore... there is additional info stored in the ECM, such as mileage, electronic serial numbers, etc etc... and if you swap ecm's, the dealer can still tell that you had the original one out, because if they happen to scan it for some reason, they'll notice that the mileage doesn't match the odometer, etc etc...

but, not a concern when using the Trinity with the stock ecm anyway... when you restore the original backup stock tune to the ecm, everything is as it should be...

I though GM was locking the ecm so you could not use your stuff and guys were sending back your programmers

You can get the autocal from blackbear and switch back to stock anytime you want :P

Yes sir, the AutoCal allows for completely custom tuning on BOTH ECM and TCM with the ability to change tunes or return back to stock easily at a price of $549.

hahahaha!! where'd you hear that??? totally untrue...

wow, the way misinformation gets around is amazing.... heh...

I know they really check on the diesel 2500hd, turning will void your warranty. I'm not sure about gaser?

neither one is an issue... items checked for, like CVN values, are untouched... ;)

as long as you restore the original backup stock tune to the vehicle before going to a dealer, there are no warranty issues whatsoever...

yeah, that's because GM screwed up with their release of a calibration update for vehicles... and their own update accidentally locked peoples ecm's... dealers/service techs with TechII's couldn't even access them after that haha... and that's not the first time GM messed up - the same thing happened a couple of years ago with an update they came out with vettes/trucks...

it was an error on GM's part with their own update... which they corrected/fixed once it was discovered... it was not something they did intentionally to lock out tuners lol... you wouldn't be able to access/tune it with an autocal, hp tuners, efi live, etc etc either... cuz like I said, even dealers/service techs were locked out of them... hehe...

has nothing at all to do with a programmer/tuner...

Not entirely true. Yes, there have been times where TIS has caused a change to the PCM's seed, however that does not prohibit us from using EFILive to access the PCM, we just have to take an extra step.

I was leaning towards the edge programmer for my truck. I would rather support the little guys and do something different though. It sounds like what you have is pretty comparable. Hit me up i would like to talk more on your set up.
