Spare tire and rim

New to the forum.. Great site!

Just got a new 2002 GMC1500 ext cab 4X4, I got the upgraded tires and rims, but when I looked at the spare it was a basic black rim and did not match the others on the truck. Is this right? or should I have gotten one that matched? (the Tire was the same..)

Just wondering if I should go back to the dealer and complain...

The rims are non-matching.  All the trucks come w/ the basic steel wheel rim for the spare.

you got a black rim?  Be happy mine is a greyish BLAH looking color with black marker writing on it

Actually i just got one after having my lift and larger tires on for a few months

has anyone used their spare?  I have for a few days cause i had a noise coming from the pass front side and wanted to see if it was the tire.

I have not used mine yet, new truck. I was hoping to use it when I rotated the tires, but since it does not match all the other rims, I guess I won't. Kinda sucks, I would think for what we pay for the trucks and the tire upgrades we would get a matching rim...

If you leave the rim under the truck the road debris (salt, rocks, etc) would eat up the rim.  I have only had my steel rim under the truck for about 8000K miles and it looks horrible

has anyone used their spare?  

All the time it seems like.  Seems every couple months we have to have a tire fixed due to the conditions we drive in.

I used my spare once when one of my tires ran over some large peice of metal which put about an 1.5" hole in gap between the tread.  It looked really stupid on there too.  Can't wait to get new wheels so I can have 5 matching wheels...

no spare for me    but of course with the price I payed for the 4 dubs I wasn't gonna buy an extra
