2" Level Vs 2.5"

So i'm torn between a 2" and 2.5" level for my sierra. I'm looking at the rc 2" level and the Topgunz 2.5" level kit. Ive been reading around here and it seems like a 2.5" may be a a little to much stress on the ball joints. Anyone have any input on the 2.5" or experience with it? Thanks.

I've had both (daystar 2" and currently CCM 2.5"). No issues with either one. I like the CCM better, and I could tell a difference in height vs. When I had the 2" leveling kit.

I looked at the ccm as well but im not to into having to cut my strut bolts. How are your angles with the 2.5?

2.5" is the max for sure, and will obviously produce harsher angles, but I don't think you will notice an increased amount of wear as directly compared to the 2" kit. The 2" kit is a little easier on the front end and much easier to install, but will likely not achieve a truely level stance. It's a toss up really based on what you like. I personally like the level stance achieved by the 2.5" kit, but prefer the angles and ease of installation of the 2" kit.

I agree, and I didn't install it. The shop threw it in there when they were taking off that piece of shit RC 3" lift. Blackout 07 is right on the perfectly level stance and I don't think it will wear on the front end any more than a 2" will. I have had to replace 1 axle, but it was because one of the outer boots tore close to the band attaching it to the axle or I hit something. It was unrelated to having a leveling kit. I've had a leveling kit (either one) for almost 35,000 miles with no issues.

Well sounds like it shouldn't be to bad then. I'm gonna go with the topgunz 2.5" unless someone can steer me towards a better 2.5" kit. Ill be putting 3" blocks in back but ill just get them from zone.

Like I said, I don't have any experience installing them, buti think CCM is the favorite of the two by most people. Either way, they both do the same thing essentially, so I would just to with what's cheaper. I have the same setup just with the zone 1.5" added on top of it. You will like it a lot. And not to be too picky, but if I had it to do over again (didn't bother me enough to want to change it), but the 3" block is a little too much rake for me on some days. I almost wish I would have went with a 2.5" or 2.25" block in the rear. Again, that is just me being picky.

I like a little bit of rake personally. I saw a couple pics of your truck and others to with a 3" block and i really like it.

Just to note I've had a 2.5" level kit on my 08 Sierra and have had no problems with it. It has been on the truck for about 75,000 miles. It is a 4x4 truck.

I ended up going with the Top gunz 2.5 and im very pleased with it. The angles aren't near as bad as i thought they'd be and the truck looks great.
