2007 Yukon- 150k Miles Reasonable?

Looking at a 2007 Yukon, 5.3 FFV, 4wd, w/ 55,000 miles. Dealer Cert Pre-Owned. The wife is worried that this truck won't last more than 3 years (~15k miles/yr) when it'll probably turn 100k. I tend to disagree. I think it'll hit 150k w/o a problem (6-7 years).

70% city drive 30% highway. Upstate NY. It'll be her's so she drives it like a girl- no insult just she's very old ladyish!

I'm strict on maintenance- oil changes, tune ups, etc.. I don't just drive it 'till check engine light comes on.

Any help? Am I crazy to expect this?

TY!

It will last more than 100K miles. There are some out there already.

I'd say if its a good deal and you really like it then grab it. Maint. and how you treat it is everything and it seems like your on top of that.

If you maintain it, it should last 200K.

Engines and ECM's and oils are not the same as they were in the 70's.

My 99 5.3 4x4 has over 300k kilometers and still going strong. Keep the fluids changed and you'll be good.

My sons 2004 Yukon Denali (6.0 liter) has 142,000 and runs like new.

My 2007 Sierra has 112,000 (6.0 liter) and also runs like new.

I think you're safe with expecting 150,000 mile from the Tahoe, given proper TLC.

it should easily hit 150k. im not sure how the GMT900's hold up with miles, but i know the GMT800's hold up pretty damn good. i have a 2003 Suburban with 155,000 on it now and its been a great vehicle. the tranny went at 120,000 miles, but it was worth it to put a new one in.

2000 EXT Cab 4x4 has 280000 miles with NO internal engine work, runs just fine for my electrical company service daily work. I expect to get 350000 miles or more out of it.

they really should bring back the slogan "LIKE A ROCK"

because these gas trucks will last just as long as a diesel!

my dad's 2004 silverado has 160,000 miles, regular oil changes when oil life hits 20%, he changed the trans & diff fluid at 100,000 miles and that is the total extent of it's maintenance!!! nothing else has broken down on it!

hell my '96 sierra 1500 has 165k miles on it and it runs like new as far as the motor and all that are concerned...it definitely gets hammered by anything new today and the clutch fan kicks on on real hot days but thats pretty normal :uhoh:

like the rest of the people said just stay on top of maintenance and be good to her and she'll be good to you...just check stuff out to make sure she hasnt had the sh*t beat out of her by the previous owner -- get a carfax :uhoh: lol

I agree with GP1500, your main concern is the 55,000 miles that the previous owner put on it and how well he maintained it during that time. See if you can get or look at the service records. Also like GP1500 said and that commercial on TV. Show me the CarFax and not the CarFox.

Good Luck

i know when i was buying my truck, since it was a '96 the first thing my dad and i checked was for oil drips where it was parked, torn rubber boots that has the stupid name that i can never remember next to the wheels, we listened to make sure she sounded right and no abnormal clunks or ticks or anything like that. there was more that we checked but that was some of the big things we checked and noticed...

not sure if that will help you any but may give you some ideas. good luck!! :uhoh:

I had 120K on my 02 Sierra with a 4.8l engine & tranny and she ran like a top. While running '35 tires on the original 3.2 gears. I expect to get 200k easy out of my current rig especailly since I'm running synthetic oil

150K easy, as long as you change the fluids.
