6.2 With Tow/haul Mode

Has anyone ever tried running at the track with the tow/haul mode on and see if the times are any better in the quarter?

but wouldn't that would allow the engine to rev up to the higher rpm range which has more power? But to answer the question of the OP im guessing there would be a very small difference just because your starting from a stop and flooring it so i think the shift points will be high in the rpm range either way. Now if your starting at speed(like on a highway), lets say 60 mph, tow/haul mode will be quicker because it will shift down a lot quicker.

The S.O.T.P. feeling when I have the tow/haul mode on seems to pull alot harder from a stop and is even trying to break the ass end loose but the traction control is keeping everything in check. Doesn't do that in regular mode from a stop.

I have never tried it but I have read a few guys that say torque management is greater with tow haul mode and makes you slower

Yes, it's slower unless you are tuned.

I just find it so hard to believe that it is slower when it feels faster during hard acceleration.

Gotta get one of those G-TECH units and run some test some day.

It's holding your gears longer during acceleration. That doesn't mean your faster it just allows for less downshifting by the transmission to lower heat/abuse on it.

Its faster off the line because it bumps up the line pressure in the trans, but holding the shift a tad to long will raise your track time, Mostly from what i have heard, if its stock trans, and with some practice you can lower your track times best in manual mode.
