Warning Chime/stereo Left Channel

Recommended Posts

I was wondering if anyone has had this problem. I have a 2005 Yukon XL and I noticed that the warning chime for "low fuel" "seat belt" or "door ajar" doesn't chime any longer and the left side stereo speakers aren't loud and clear sounding. Sometimes when the temp is right outside everything will work for a few minutes, but then goes out again.

Any ideas?

it could be a plethora of different things.

the warning chimes are played through the Left Front radio channel. You either have a bad speaker or bad radio amp (the internal amp to the radio) in that position

...a bad speaker or bad radio amp...
Yup. Chime signals front driver's speaker only. Mine went out some time ago. Speaker was OK. (Been living with it.)

+1 on the speaker going bad. My '06 Silverado did the exact same thing. A pretty quick fix.

Check crutchfield.com for replacements. Nice thing about Crutchfield is that they come with the mounting bracket and wiring adapter included in the price, and they have a pretty wide variety of equipment to select from.

Your stock head unit is prob. failing.

www.unitedradio.com in Syracuse NY is the GM authorized repair

depot. But they are very $pendy !

You could try one of the aftermarket tone generators that Crutchfield

sells. But I think they might be for aftermarket units only??????

You could buy a used unit from a parts yard BUT after 03 they are

VIN# locked and you would have to have the dealer and their Tech-2

machine to unlock it to work in your truck.......$$$$$
