I Finally Removed My Door Moldings.

I have been riding the fence about doing this for a while and I got a wild hair today so I did it. The problem was that I couldn't find an eraser wheel so I had to get creative (to save my fingers). After removing the moldings, I thoroughly soaked the 3M tape with adhesive remover. I let it sit for a while and drove to the nearest car wash. I was quite surprised that the tape rolled off in strips while being blasted with a pressure washer. Anyway, on to the pics....nothing fancy, just some shots in the driveway.

The gmt800 have a door contour and no side molding looks fine. Our doors are just slightly bent sheets of metal. I think they need the molding to breakup the flatness. Just my opinion since your asking. I guess I'm saying there is no "character" to the sides without molding to breakup the flatness. At least you also removed the side badging which looks lost in space without the molding.

I do agree with you to an extent. But the more modded trucks that I have seen with the moldings removed, the more it grew on me. Plus I'm just getting bored with the truck here lately.

I here ya. Sometimes you gotta make a change. Doesn't look bad at all. Most important is that you are happy. Rock on man.

I like it. Its good that you're lifted though so you won't get the door dings like you would stock height. If you ever want to put something back, The GMT-800 denali chrome moldings look good. Paint them black and you'd be set.
