I have a 1988 GMC R-3500, with a supposed untraceable VIN. All of the ways I have tried to trace and track it have told be it wasn't a valid VIN and could not be researched but its the one GM put on it!Is there any special channels that Dealers or GM employees can go through to trace it? I need the RPOs for this truck nd a VIN trace so I know what GM gave it originally. The RPO tag in the glovebox is missing and the company I bought it from says they do not know anything about it, not even records while it was in their ownership! I have a picture of the VIN tag as well as this typed to aid in tracing, 1GDHR34K3JJ511215

As mentioned before,it is a 1988 GMC R-3500

here is all I know about it,

4 spd with granny gear,

350 TBI

14 bolt rear with dual rear wheels

No a/c, manual windows, locks and etc no options.

Can anyone trace this at the dealer and provide any scanned wiring diagrams for it?

I know when it was new it was bought as a Cab/Chassis.

Yup. Vin is too old to pull up in the electronic system and I don't have access to the paper manual for it. I'd try Chiltons for the manual and it seems like parts or sales should be able to get you an RPO list for it. I assume that the label is no longer stuck to the glove box door?

Well your DMV can look up the VIN and see that this vehicle is under 8500 GVW the "F" designator indicates this is a vehicle under 8000lbs the brake system is good only up to 8000 lbs. If they cannot go that far back shame on them.

The sticker is gone
