New Ford Exploder

Just saw a new Ford Exploder. How pathetic. Ford is going to kill off that line just like they did the Taurus back when they did the 1996 re-design that looked like a bubble gum machine.

at least you know who is not here to chime in, but yes i do agree that the new explorer is absolutley hideous

haven't seen it yet, i've never been a fan of their suv type things, i don't mind the look of their trucks though

They say it has sold well so far but I've yet to see one. Not a huge fan of it either but I don't like most of the CUVs out there style wise anyway.

It looks like a minivan.

My first vehicle was a 98 explorer and i still have mad love for that vehicle. But the new generation is no longer an SUV... what's interesting is I wonder if they're planning on cancelling the Edge? With the recent changes to the Explorer it seems like its self competition...

Last weekend we took my son to a circus, while we were in the line in the parking lot waiting to park my wife said "hey, what type of vehicle is that?" and i said "oh thats the new explorer" and her jaw dropped

FWIW, if this was actually the Edge re-design.... i would kind of like it. But being an "Explorer" just isn't right.

We had a 92 Explorer brand new. Was a great vehicle, no major issues other than:

Water Pump went out at 100,000 miles

4X4 Actuator went out at 100,000 miles

Other than that it was rock solid. We kept it until 150,000 and sold it.

i dont like ford but my cousin has a hideous 2003 explorer sport with over 250,000 miles on the original engine and trans... there are many things wrong with it though.

has anyone else noticed that MANY older explorers seem to be sagging really bad in the back?

Probably because the owners don't realize that shocks and struts are a maintenance item and need to be replaced and don't last forever. I too have noticed that

Actually "explorer sag" is a very common issue... the Sport versions were worse due to the mono-leaf design. A lot of people would find 4 door leaf packs to replace their mono-leafs (including me) to eliminate the issue.

It has to do with springs sagging, not the shocks.

I always liked the last generation of 2-door Explorers they had, thought they were sharp looking. Plus the front ends weren't as awful as the garbage my Jimmy had.

since were kind of itching around fords and explorers, how useless and ugly are Sport-Tracs? are they not the ugliest vehicle you have ever seen? the bed is a useless at the H2T's bed

not bashing ford at all, just talking about a product design
