Abs System

Alright now just one question, does ABS system or autoride system can apply break by itself without pressing the brake pedal ?

Thanks

The abs and autoride systems are two completely different, and completely seperate, systems.

ABS cannot apply brake pressure over what is available from the master cylinder during the event. I can hold, release or isolate pressure from any of the wheel hydraulic circuits as it sees necessary.

However, if your really asking, what I think you're asking, no, the abs system cannot cause your brakes to all of a sudden apply on their own. A vehicle with stability or traction control can, to an extent, but not a base ABS.

He could be talking about traction control.

If its icy or wet and I go around a corner and goose it, it'll lock a wheel up. And it sounds/feels not too different from ABS.

I don't have traction control on that truck. Well after all those research i think that i have had two seperate problem at the same time. First i have a wheel speed sensor problem and second i think it should be a bad after market caliper that as been change last october that grip or stuck after breaking and don't release. I don't think of a bad bearing, front wheels are real tight and i don't noticed a suspect sound or vibration any.

Thanks at all of you trying to help

Just a note: The "traction control system" is simply the abs system keeping tires from spinning and the ecm can alter timing and fuel to change engine control, also to control traction. So in a way yes the abs can apply by itself without any input from the driver on the brake pedal.

If traction control option is NW7 RPO code then i don't have it.

Well i just bought some pair of hub bearing, rotor, pads, and the both front brake hoses and going to do the job this week-end. Another question please is it an obligation to change the 36mm nut or i can just apply some red locktite on the old one ?

Thanks in advance
