Anyone know of the available special order paints?  Chevy has the 8 standard colors and a local dealer ordered a bunch of the dark brown special orders.  Is the solid grey still available, not the new grey/black?  I haven't talked with my local dealer, just looked at the sticker and it said "special order paint".

I don't have the answer, but I'm going to take a shot in the dark here and guess that some of the "special order" paint would have to be done for "fleet" orders.

Sorry, I don't have any answers either. But I know the factory has really tied the dealers hands for special orders

anymore. They just don't want to deal with them.

I guess it's not cost effective.

My cousin tried this with Chrysler about 5 years ago. Wanted something different and unique, even though he said he would pay the extra cost for the trouble, they would'nt budge.

Maybe GM is different but I doubt it.

In the old days they would do anything to sell a car. I remember my Uncle ordering a 196? Buick Wildcat that only came with an automatic. He had the factory or dealer take a 4 speed from Chevy and put it in the car. Boy I'd like to have that special order Wildcat today!

I think Shaners is correct, Fleet vehicles only.

Hey if we all agree on a color and say we want Forum fleet vehicles......hmmmmmm..... :flag:  Then Mervz can be like Mary Kay and when you hit 4,000 posts he buys you a New Truck, 10,000 posts a Vette. Color of his choice of course. C'mon who's with me on this one?  :(  :flag:

When I ordered mine in August you could only order the standard colors and no two tone.I ordered the dark green and had the dealer paint the bottom pewter and order new side moldings painted black.I don't have the moldings on yet,but the paint looks great. The two tone option was $260.00 in 2002.It cost a lot more the way I did it,but I got what I wanted.I am probably the only one on here who don't like the looks of the 99 to 02's,but that's what makes America great :flag: ,you don't have to go with the flow.To me the nicest looking Chevies ever were 1970-72 shortbed stepsides.Later,Donnie  :(

GM will paint your truck with any current model year color that they offer across the line.  The catch is you have to buy a minimum of 10 identical vehicles, they have to be on a fleet order, and those orders are usually staged to be built at the beginning and end of the model year run.  You do get a bit of a discount by buying fleet   :D I just hope Mary Kay never decides to give out GM trucks!  :D
