The slack that you refer to, is it at the top of the cable between the TB and the bracket? How does the trans shift? If it shifts properly and you have WOT, then it shouldn't matter if there is slack.

Have you looked in the manual to see how it is supposed to be adjusted? I have zero experience in this area (GM trans I mean, I have oodles of exp with Chrysler 904-727 trans though), but my first thought would be that you match the WOT position on both cables. In other words, hold the throttle WOT, and adjust the TV cable to also be at its limit of travel. Now drive the car, does it shift properly? This is just my idea of how to adjust it, no idea if it is the right way though.

I fixed the problem the new cable was about 5 inches bigger causing the slack,i putted the old cable back on its fine. The reason i replaced it was because if i gave it even thorttle to down shift the cable would have slack i havent got down on her lately so i dont know if the problem is fixed maybe the cable down in trans was getting hung up on the boot for the tv cable or something or it was just out of adjustment. But it shifts great, shift points seem spot on.
