Resetting Average Mpg On Dic

Is there any way of resetting or clearing the average MPG on my Dic? I installed the Dic buttons on my Sierra and it has diplayed 14.8 for the last 3-4 days. Seems like it would have changed some.

I don't think you can reset the average mpg. If you can, I haven't found it on my sierra that came with the DIC (not that I've really been looking for it). Average mpg wont change quickly as it's the average of all miles every driven.

I was hoping for something like resetting the trip meter. Ive run about 1/2 tank since I installed the Dic.

It can be reset, just like the trip odometer. It's been awhile...maybe bring up the fuel average on the display and hold the check-mark switch???

That's what I do to re-set mine.

This is how I reset my 2011. It should reset mileage, average MPG, fuel (gallons) used and the trip timer that I haven't figured out how to use yet. :dunno:

After every fillup I reset the trip meter, gallons used and avg mpg. It starts out with 0 mpg and goes up from there.

The avg mpg will change very quickly at the beginning of a reset, but as the miles are accumulated on that tank of gas then

it starts to move much slower. Mine gets 15 to 18 mpg in town(dependant on how much starting & stopping I do) and 21 mpg

if I fillup and hit the open road.

The only thing you can't reset is the fuel range.
