Spark Plug Info

Got a call from NGK today.  The 5.3L comes with either an NGK or a Denso. Pulling a plug will tell.  The NGK is a  PZTRSA15 with a 0.060 gap. the Denso is a PTJ4R15 (I think, or a PTJ14R15).

The plugs have been tested to 150,000 miles and he said they should be fine to 100,000.  I asked him when he would change them in his truck. He said, pull them and check, but 100,000 is definitely not too long.

This is nothing new.  GM has been putting in NGK's into Corvette's/Camaro's/Trans Am's since the LS1 was introduced.  Doesn't surprise me that the Vortec truck motors follow suit.  Heck I've even seen Cavaliers with NGK's as standard issue plugs.

Mine are PTJ14R15's in the BBC also.
