Engine Sputters For A Few Seconds After Turning Off With Key

I recently installed a amplifier and subwoofers in my 2011 Silverado extended cab 5.3. I connected the power wire for the amplifier to the battery and the remote wire to the 10 amp fuse for the ignition. After installing the speaker system, I noticed that whenever I turn my truck off the engines runs for a few seconds, then sputters as if it is running out of gas before finally shutting off. My truck also has a factory remote starter that has stopped working since the speaker system installation. Does anyone have any suggestions as to what is causing these issues?

You answered your own question. Your new speaker system is causing the issue. Was the 10amp fuse always connected that way for the remote or did you move it? If you moved it, try putting it back the way it was.

You answered your own question. Your new speaker system is causing the issue. Was the 10amp fuse always connected that way for the remote or did you move it? If you moved it, try putting it back the way it was.

 

 

 

I already knew the obvious, however I am sure there is a possible way to have a amplifier and subwoofers installed without having any problems. The remote that is wired into the ignition fuse is the remote wire that turns the amplifier on and off, not the remote starter. I have not messed with anything else besides pulling the 10 amp fuse out, wrapping the remote wire around the fuse, then inserting the fuse back into its original place. I was wondering what I could have fried or burnt in the process of installing the system. When I wired the amp to the battery the first time, I connected it to the same post on the battery as the wire for fuse box and alternator. After experiencing these problems I then moved it to the positive battery terminal where it was connected alone without any other wires.
