it should have been done a long #### time ago,  every great nation has great looking money  but we have boring ass greenbacks.

From a friend that works at the east coast mint, he said they should roll out around second quarter 2003

the reason they would be switching to color is because the current redesign must be easier to copy than they thought. the colors are fraud protection, more colors, harders to duplicate. (haven't read the article yet, if they explain it)

As the R.E.M song goes, "It's the end of the world as we know it".

The Green is what makes our :jester: Currency so unique.

Now we're just gonna look like Austrailians, or some other Foreign Country. :D

Unless, they use Red, White and Blue. (Now that wouldn't be so bad).

It is going to be done for a couple of reasons.

1) harder for counterfitters to duplicate.

2) More patriotic, I.E. Red, White, and Blue.

I think it is about time.  Out currency is outdated and any person with a little knowledge can counterfit it with the right equipment.  I really like the monies used by Australia and Canada, I have a few bills from those countries.  They look great.   :thumb: Red, white, and blue colors would be neat  :jester:

As a Canadian we are used to coloured money.  It may be a little harder to counterfeit but it is still a problem up here.

The main advantage is when you are out at a bar late at night or early morning you can easily tell the difference between a $5 and a $20 just by the colour.

I think the worst thing we did to our money was to get rid of the $1 and $2 bill and replaced them with $1 coin the loonie and $2 coin the toonie.

If you want to see some wild looking money check out cash from the Bahamas.

Cool!  White money!!!  would seem easy to counterfeit...lol! :jester:

Tell me about it, we got a good chuckle about that on our trip up through Prince Albert.

If it's all worth the same, and it still spends the same, who cares.  I'll spend it either way.

And it probably will cut down on the amount of times someone accidently uses the wrong bill, i.e. a 5 instead of a 20, or vice versa.

Who cares what color it is, let's just spend it!!!
