Tpms Installed?

I just bought a 2010 Silverado 1500 yesterday and was wondering if the TPMS is installed on this vehicle. The build sheet shows an RPO Code of UJ6 - Tire Pressure Monitor. I do not have the DIC controls on the left side panel, and when I scroll through the messages using the mileage reset button I don't see anything relating to tire pressure. Do I need to purchase the DIC controls/left panel and get that plugged in to actually see/use these options?

by federal law every passenger vehicle and light duty truck has them now (and for the past several years). They are there and active, but you can not see the actual readings without DIC controls (plug and play), for now they will only warn you of a low tire or malfunctioning sensor.

your truck is like mine. if you want to scroll through and check them, yes you must purchase the DIC panel. however, if you get a low tire, it will still pop up on the screen "left rear tire pressure low"

try scrolling through while in park and see if you can get the readings.
