Someone's Trying To Steal My Truck

what do you use to stop someone from stealing your truck ( this is in Canada, so don't answer a gun. I wish I could ). I thought with the new gm keys your truck couldn't be stolen. I would like to hook up 220 to the truck but I can't do that. What are the best ways to stop someone. I live in a apartment and don't fit in the underground parking. The cops don't like coming into my area. I also have to wait till the spring before I can move out.

Had my drives side window smashed the first time and my door was left wide open, this morning I hear something banging in the door and try to manual lock the door with the key and it does nothing.

Are you saying your key does not work?

If they are trying to steal the whole truck then put a boot over the tire.......Wont move without a wrecker. If they are just stealing stuff out of it, then start with keeping everything out of sight....A good alarm system with a proximity sensor that gives warning beeps when people get too close. Outside of that, move as quickly as possible.

Try a starter disable system. There are several kinds out there. Plus keep your insurance and onstar current.

The morons should know already these are relatively hard to steal. Mine was broken in once. The job to get in the vehicle was clean and pro, even him could not start it with the choke prevention.

Get yourself a good 2 way alarm that will signal you if someone breaks the proximity sensor.

Then you can go out there and scare the shit out of them..

Chances are they are not after the truck, they are after the contents. Don't leave anything in the truck, leave the glove box door open, and the lid on the arm rest up. Show them there is nothing to steal. You may also consider leaving the door unlocked as well, let them take a look around. Maybe put a note on the steering wheel stating this...

Dear Young Offender:

There is nothing in the truck, the door is unlocked, please close the door after you are done. If you leave the door open, the next young offender will not be able to see due to the battery being dead. Please be considerate to other members of your group.

Thanks,

Grateful Owner
