pulled my 6000 lb boat around all Memorial Weekend. Pulled it like it wasnt even there. I got around 11 mph pulling it 68mph. If i backed down to around 60 it would get much better, but then people might think I am underpowered. LOL!!

Nice Boat! Do you get on the board much, or is it more for the kids? I did a little over the weekend.

picked up my new truck on Tuesday this week, its my second 6.2L and I just transfered my mods from old to new. Really like the extra room with CC verses Xcab but it does feel a bit heavy compared to xcaB BUT i'LL get use to it soon enough.

Only about 100# difference between the EC and CC, but the CC has better F/R balance, IMO.

I just went from a 2008 extended cab to a 2012 crew cab and can't tell that one is heavier than the other...

hey guys new to the forum. Got my 12 excab 6.2 about two months ago and the mod bug has bitten me. Looking to update my exhaust. What will give me the loud deep sound I'm looking for. Flow 44? considering even a single chamber but this 6.2 is pretty throaty already. Thanks

all I did was had factory exhaust removed and a magna flow performance one put in its place with a 3.5" inlet and outlet oh and make sure its not a short bodied muffler get the BB 21" exhaust muffler as a smaller one will possible cause problem and add back preasure I was told. I luv'ed the sound as it was like a sound straight out of Nascar LOL! Oh and I would leave the resinator on IMO would be to loud.

I still need to have this done to my 2012 CC but have other priority right now

Txmuder- I'm not from Texas, but those bowties are cool. How did your hypertech do for your 6.2? I know it wasn't Blackbear, but I had a superchips programmer that really woke up my '07 VMax.

Posted (edited)

I had the same programmer on my 2011 and just had to go on line a update it for free to 2012 status. It really IMO made a world of difference esp with CAI and TB spacer along with exhaust (Magnaflow) it was like and sounded like a Nascar canidate and on one ocassion I hit a top spped of 140mph with a co-worker on the driver side, the speed was recorded on my navigation (Garmin) and so far I have hit 135mph in this 2012 CC both on flat open roads with no traffic and around 4am in the morning heading to work.

Thanks for the compliments and that SC540 is pretty sweet also. I bet you get lots of question about that truck.

not sure that I could have hit those numbers in the VMax. Pretty sure the Callaway will, maybe even did, but I don't have a garmin and the speedo topped out at 120 so I'm not real sure what I hit. I know the tach was still climbing steadily...I bought my wife a nice tom tom for Christmas, but we've never had it out of the box, so I'm not sure if it has features like that. My superchips was cool because I could log zero to 10, 20, 30 etc. as well as 1/4 mile times. Probably should have kept it for those things. Oh well. I get more looks than questions. All of the Silverado badging is now Callaway, and most don't know what it is. I guess I like it that way :dunno:

I bet if they tried to run you they might find out real quick what Callaway stands for, LOL. If your truck is a 12' then it should have the digital speedometer on the DIC screen I believe because mine does and it goes past the 120 mark and is right on with both the speedometer and my garmin when I hit 135 it showed the same, but my 2011 silverado did not have that option on the DIC panel so mabe it is a new option for 12' up.

It does have the speedo in the DIC. You shouldn't have told me that...I'll send you the ticket and have my wife call for the bail money...

Ha Ha !! Thought you would like that, makes me wonder why they would add that option as we both might have to ask Chevy for bail money. Another thing different I found was when I updated my Hypertech programer for 2012 a shift firmness mode was added allowing me to adjust shifting type from 0% up to 100% firmer, I have mine on 50% and taking off at a light I hit second with a little wheel spin and quick shifts all the way up to 5th and 6th. Only thing is my stock tire will be gone in no time if I'm not carefull.
