Just got a 2011 Silverado with a 6.2L. It is 4x4 ext. cab Black with black leather interior. 33,000 miles. I totally love it. Tons of power. The best mpg I have managed to get so far is 18.1 and that is with the cruise set at 55. Just wondering what is the first thing to get or have done to it to unleash the beast within? Programmer or cold air intake? Thanks in advance. Great forum guys!

Go with an air raid MIT after a BB tune

I did the air raid intake and a resonator removal before my black bear tune. The tune was the best upgrade by far, but the intake makes a nice sound! Thinking of doing headers or an exhaust now, to much power is never a bad thing!

Been researching/reading about the 6.2 a bunch sinceI got the truck. The dealer filled it up with 87 octane. I have filled up 2 times since, once with 87 and the second time, i put in 91octane after reading that it requires it. So my question is...do I need to do the ECM fuse pull thing? Or does it realize the octane rating and change on it's own? And I will be running 91 from now on.

Fuse pull is a myth. After filling up with higher octane the tables will learn.

Don't tell camaro owners this they believe it adds 25 hp

Can anyone tell me the difference between the Corsa 24524 DB Cat Back Exhaust and the Corsa 14524 Sport Cat back exhaust? There is about a $450 difference in price. The sport exhaust is the more expensive and I can't figure out what the difference is. I'm looking for a louder exhaust but not too loud. Stock 6.2 exhaust is louder then the stock 5.3 but I want a little more rumble.

I am running 2 - 2.5" Magnaflow 16" (I think) these are ran true duels and are seperated. I like the sound myself.

sounds good.

I finally have my exhaust complete.

I had my buddy who is an awesome welder, cut out the stock muffler, and put in a magnaflow 22" in. before the muffler tho i had him put in a Y pipe and i have an electric cutout in there. I still have to route a pipe from the cutout instead of dumping under truck into the frame, but it sounds phenominal now.

I also had him remove the resonator and that helped bring on some deep sounds. The 3 cats really quiet this truck down tho.

I still have to get a video. And some pics.

My truck makes this exact noise at the exact sound level. I believe it is a lifter issue it does it on a 95 degree day just as much as a below 30 degree morning, if the truck sits for about 4 hours it does it on a rare occasion it does not. It last around 2 to 3 minutes and fades until it has reached 190 minimum. If I wind the gear out to about 2500 rpm there is a constant lifter rattle. At idle in a drive through I can hear a faint lifter tap no matter how warm the engine. Dealer says if I pay for the tear down and they find something they will fix it, if not I'm out the tear down and reassemble $$.
