Should I trade? 08 Tahoe for 06 Sierra CC

I am really missing have a truck and found a good deal on an 06 GMC Sierra crew cab 4x4 z71. It is silverbirch with gray leather with the normal options that come with leather. I has 20" VHO wheels with new rubber and only has 41000 miles. Mine is an 08 Tahoe with 3lt 4x4 with all options but nav. and rear tv. and has 31000 miles.

 

After the trade I will only have a few grand I would have to owe which would get paid off right away. They are asking 23000 for it at a local dealer.

 

 

Would you do it?

seems like an 08 tahoe should be worth a lot more than an 06 sierra...I had an 06 sierra crew z71 slt and loved it.....I would only do it if the price was right, especially stepping backwards into a gmt-800...i have an 11 yukon now and it is far superior..just my 2 cents

I really like the gmt800 trucks and it is not a real step down IMO. I really liked the quality of them compared to the gmt900 trucks. Plus it would be nice to get away from the AFM thta the gmt900 have.

 

 

It would not be an even trade at all. I still have a loan to pay off on the tahoe. SO after they give me what I want for the tahoe and then payoff my loan, I would have at the asking price of the Sierra. SO I would be debt free when done.

It is a nice looking truck, and I was a fan of the GMT-800's too... but personally I think the GMT-900's are better but thats my opinion. I suppose any GM truck would work..

No, you're getting screwed on the taxes. either way you're losing 1,500 just because of sales tax. Not to mention you're inheriting a truck with 10,000 more miles and you have no idea how that truck was driven.

Well I am going to hold off for now on getting a truck. Like everyone said it would be a downgrade. But I will keep my eye out for a used 6.2L silverado or sierra next summer.

Never have negative equity in a trade (i.e. don't roll forward loan balances). It just doesn't make sense in the long run. Wait until the new one is paid off, then consider trading for another (preferably newer) vehicle.
