Help with codes

Recommended Posts

I have a 93 silverado. It is a Mark 3 conversion my suggestion to all is if it dont come that way from the factory dont buy it. But that is another subject. It has a 350 and has been a good truck until late. Right now It is showing a code 32 and 38. What exactly would the EGR valve being bad affect? Today it started idling really rough and smelled extremely rich.

I am sorry, I posted this in the wrong spot.

A bad EGR valve will make it run rich and idle poorly. Really.

You can try a Google search for OBD1 codes and see what they mean. I don't think it's very difficult to replace the EGR on those. I had an older Jeep Wrangler that had a bad EGR when I bought it and it idled like crap. Put a new valve on it and it cleared it right up.

I have a 2005 gmc seirra with a po449 code can u tell me what this code is and what to change

It is: Evaporative Emission Control System Vent Valve/Solenoid Circuit Malfunction. It could be as simple as a loose/defective gas cap or it could be a problem in that system. Such as a vacuum line or the valve/solenoid.
