RC 3.5" Suspension Lift

I was considering purchasing this kit, but I can't really find any reviews on it. Anyone running this kit?

I have a 2010 Sierra CCSB ans would like to go a liitle higher than just the leveling kit offers. I have heard that going more than 2.5" in the front really puts the front end geometry out of whack.

I'm looking for input from anyone running this kit or with knowledge of it.

I really wanted the same kit for the same reason as you a little more height and not to mention it's ALOT cheaper than a full blown suspension lift. However and I'm sure others will chime in but I haven't found any good reviews on this kit, it got bashed pretty bad just about everywhere I looked. I know one of the issues I read about was the fact that the upper control arm would rub on the coil spring and that it does put certain suspension/steering parts in a pretty good bind. I was hoping maybe Rough Country had fixed these problems but can't say as I've heard any good reviews if they have.

I decided to just give Rough Country a call and see what they had to say. I know just about any company that sells anything is gonna tell ya what you want to hear about their products but with that in mind this is what I was told. Rough Country did say they had some issues with the kit when it first came out but have since made some tweaks to it. He said the issue was with the upper control arm and has now been designed so it doesn't rub anymore, it has oem bushings and Moog ball joints. So I guess take it for whats it worth but thought I'd pass on what I found out.

I have heard a couple of guys that like it. For the most part though most reviews are not good. If in fact its been redsigned give it a try what do you have to loose other then 400 bucks plus the cost of realingment and your time.

Funny that RC acknowledges that there was a problem. When I had the kit in 07, there was "no problem." Even if it is fixed, I look at it like this...any company that takes 3-4 years to fix an issue with something so simple, is not a company I will ever give my money to again.

I am highly thinking of doing this kit on the Tahoe this coming summer. I have heard alot of bad issues but it seems like all have been resolved. I would rather spend the $400 on this kit instead of installing a body lift to get the extra 2" I want.

So you actually had this kit installed then? What is your opinion on it? Was the control arm rubbing the spring your only issue with it? Was alignment an issue?

I hear ya. I AM NOT a fan of body lifts. I think you can get away with a 1" BL and it looks okay, but anything more than that just doesn't look good to me. It's all a matter of opinion though.

I've never personally had this kit, but the reviews alone would make me stay far from it. You could pick up a 2.5" level and 1.5" body lift for less money, and be a little higher with peace of mind.

In my situtaion on my Tahoe If I did a body lift I would have to cut the rear hitch and relocate it to match the bumper. That kind of worries me when I tow alot of stuff with it. So that is why this kit would be a good fit for me. On my Sierra I only did the 2" leveling kit because of the issues of the 3.5" kit they had back then. But I did also do a body lift on it too. I have done body lifts on all my trucks I owned but the Tahoe scares me because of the hitch.

Total junk. Parts didn't line up, alignment wouldn't hold, ball joints were bad, and you had to drill your spindles. I was sick over what I had done to my brand new truck.

Most are surprised that my truck has a 3" body lift when they see it in person and ask about the truck. GMT 900s look good body lifted. I too would worry about the hitch on a Tahoe though.

That's a pretty strong argument against it, and coming from someone who had it first hand. Seems like everything I was hearing was from someone who knew someone that said this or that.

So what do you have on your truck besides the 3" BL?

I was sceptical at first about the RCX 3.5" lift. I have had my lift on my truck for 15K with out any problems. I also have the RC 1.25" BL on my truck. So far so good. although for the height of lift i have 4.75" on paper, a 2.5" leveling kit, and 1.5" BL would net 4" of lift.
