Truck Is Ordered :D

Well finally buckled down and decided what I wanted and ordered.

 

2012 Sierra SLE Z71 w/ 6.2L in Carbon Black Metallic- Got a whole bunch of options with it too (SLE Interior and Exterior packages, Sunroof, etc)

 

The only thing the wait to have it built is going to kill me. 8-10 WEEKS? :confused

It wont be tha long. My 08 Tahoe was built and shipped in less than 3 wks and my truck was built and shipped in about 4.

The dealer I'm working with only had 1 6.2L on their lot, but it was black and I wasn't wanting another black vehicle since my G8GT is black. I went back and forth for a week trying to do a dealer swap, but nobody will trade with these guys. I was going to place a custom order, but didn't want to deal with the wait. I'm not that patient! So, I will have another black vehicle here this weekend.

 

Had to have the 6.2L. Didn't want anything to do with the AFM in the 5.3L. I did a dod-delete on my G8 to get rid of it.

To be honest 6 weeks would be ideal for me considering its still winter and want to keep as much salt off it as possible till I get it undercoated and they LOVE their salt here It also gives me time to get dads truck ready to sell as he is taking my current one (2007 Classic Extended 4.8) which actually used to be his. We like to swap vehicles around a bit in this family.

 

As for the 6.2 vs 5.3, I had a rental on the 2007 about a month ago when it went in for warranty work and it was a 5.3 and I didnt find anything wrong with it. But on the 2006 Sierra my dad has right now with the 5.3 its had a lifter knock since we've had it and I was unsure about the AFM, and considering the 6.2 is rated at the same MPG's as my current 4.8 and I found out I get a supplier discount on GM factory order that brought the 6.2 in under my budgeted amount, I had to have it. I have been watching for the 6.2 tailpipes on the trucks here and never see them! What can I say, I wanted bragging rights!

How dose that whole ordering thing work? Did you settle on a price already? What about trade (if any)? Do you still get to haggle?

Mine took about 6 weeks to show up last year. Congrats on ordering the new truck. Having it just the way you want it is a great feeling. You'll love the 6.2.

When I ordered mine, We did come to an arrangement on price for the trade and new truck before placing the order. I told him if anything changed, I was out. We both agreed, and I put a little money down, and the order was placed.
