Well my neighbor has a Hemi Quad cab. I doubt he will even notice that I will have changed trucks. But he has enjoyed bragging about how his Hemi will dust my 5.3. I guess we will see what he has soon. LOL

A close friend of mine has an '11 Hemi and he wasn't very happy after we "touched" them off. He thought I waited that long 6 weeks for my truck to come in with a 5.3?!? Yeah, right. Bub bye Hemi Boy!

If it has a vin I think they could do all the paperwork for you to buy and you would catch the rebates

If it's built and in Lordstown, the dealer can get the vin. I'm about 30 miles from there. A lot of things seem to go there before going to the final destination.

Yes I have the vin number. I have also downloaded the window sticker. It has not arrived as of yet and maybe it will come in today. The bummer is that I have all these items sitting here in my garage to install on the new one. Rancho Quick lift . loaded, 2" ready lift rear blocks, the home link console, rear rancho 9000 shocks, optama battery, rear bed liner with cargo management system, and black tow hooks, don't like the chrome ones. oh and the rear locking tail gate handle.

Well it is Friday and still no truck. This is a bummer as I must take deleverly by Feb. 29 to get all the current rebates. The salesman tells me not to worry as he can sell with the vin, but he has to wait until tuesday. sounds fishy to me but he has always been good to his word. Guess we will see.

Really in the states you pay rebates based on when the truck is delievied? I remember my truck was about 2 week late from the expected deleiver date, I was pissed at the time but i knew i would pay the same price i agreeed to months before when i ordered it, even the some rebates where over. My dealer was actucally good to and had update one rebate. When i ordered they where giving a 500$ militarty rebate. when it finally came in the new rebate was 750$ and they gladly switch it out.

Well I went to the dealer this morning and my new truck had not arrived yet. The salesman then told me we can complete the deal today as on wednesday the auto show $1000 will go away and probably the loyality $1000 cash will also go away. So with my buyer supplier, the $2000 rebate, $1000 loyatly, $1000 auto show, and $1000 trade in bonus cash, the truck went from 44,345 to 36,868. They also gave me an excellent trade price for my truck. So all I have to do now is wait until it comes in, hopefully next week. When it does I will go to the 6.2 forum and add photos.

Rebates or not they can still do it at that price. You are buying two vehicles in 6 months so dont let them fool you into they wont make any money on the deal if they are less than the published rebates, you are probably paying for the kids vehicles with your two sales in 6 months time. Next time you drive in to check on it, drive up in a demo vehicle from another dealership. They've got you on a string and they know it.

Seriously pull up in a new truck from another dealership same color if you can and act disinterested. Just the fact that they are "threatening" that they wont do the rebates if its not there by the end of the month pisses me off and I'm not even buying it.

In Ontario, most rebates are tied to an expiry date. It is not the dealer doing this, it is the manufacturer. The main reason for this is quite simple, they want to move vehicles that are on the lot.

As for completing paper work before the vehicle is delivered may be an issue with GM. They know when the vehicle was delivered and signed for. The rebate most likely says you have to take delivery, not just complete the paper work. You will find though that there will be new rebates/programs for March. May even be better than what you are currently counting on.

What would be nice is a dealer that is willing to backdate the sale to meet the Feb deadline, or give you the March rebates if they are better than Feb rebates.

    • same here , i have a 2020 first gen and the cost to repair these engines far excedes replacement
    • But Grumpy I did show several subdivisions that had homes starting in the 170K range. If you bought a Townhouse or Condo you could go cheaper. Same with a car 3000 dollars in the 70s translates to around 20K today. There are several models at that price. You actually get more for the money. In the 70s I drove a 3000$ car bought a 28K home and made 4.50 per hour. Thank goodness for overtime. Today I could buy a 170K house drive a 20K car and make 25 dollars an hour operating the same machine today. The difference the house, car, machine would be better and have AC. And I wouldn’t be taxed on overtime. And statistically your wife works too. Easing the burden. I thought we agreed to disagree. I brought receipts earlier, showing examples. I think you’re more stubborn than me. I was done with this debate.
    • I’m definitely interested to hear the end result here.
    • My 2025 Silverado 1500 had to receive a brand-new engine (long block) under warranty last month at only around 16,500 miles. Before the replacement, the truck repeatedly displayed "Engine Oil Level Low" warnings, even though the Oil Life Monitor still showed around 50% remaining after about 6,000 miles since my last oil change. After seeing the warning several times, I checked the dipstick with the engine cold, and the oil level was completely normal. The next day, the message escalated to "Add Engine Oil." At first, I assumed it was just a faulty oil level sensor, so I brought the truck to the dealership. After inspecting the engine, they found internal cylinder wall scoring and ultimately replaced the entire long block under warranty. Before this happened, I was planning to install a 4-inch lift and suspension upgrade on my truck. After needing a new engine at just 16,500 miles, I honestly don't see the point anymore. I also contacted GM to ask whether my vehicle qualified for a buyback, but I was informed that it does not at this time. Anyway, this experience has left me with serious concerns about the long-term reliability of this engine. I sincerely hope NHTSA expands the current investigation or recall to include 2025 model and performs a thorough inspection of affected vehicles. My biggest concern is that these engines may fail shortly after the powertrain warranty expires. If GM truly stands behind this engine, then at the very least, please consider extending the powertrain warranty to 10 years for affected owners. That would go a long way toward restoring customer confidence.
    • Without exception but then I'm the odd duck, right? I know what goes into that test, how it is calculated and thus how to beat it. But EPA values are often not beaten by the general public and the government has in past years adjusted the means and methods to come to those values to more closely approximate "Joe Average".    The only real trick to beating that EPA average is don't drive like "Joe Average".    It's the same method you used to profit from "Economic Migration" and in doing so beat the 'stats'. But you, like me, are not "Joe Average".     The thing you don't seem to grasp is this "Purchasing Power Index" isn't forward looking. It doesn't predict what it going to be but looks backward and states what it was. They are not telling us what the THINK, they are telling us what they MEASURED. Example:    Wife says "I'm going to lose 40 pounds by Christmas". May she does, maybe she doesn't but the doctors office who weighed her when she made that statement and again at Christmas only REPORTS what the RESULT was. You and I can banter about what was possible and what aunt Tilly did till the cows come home but the result is the result. Arguing otherwise is.....irrational. That's all I'm saying. This isn't about:      What you are calling a 'Statistic' is a RESULT not a CALCUATION and as a result the RULE. Like gravity as a rule, it can not be broken.
