newbie with lifts

Ive been on the site for a couple months now soaking up all the good info but it will be my first time lifting a truck and id like to see what you guys think. I have a 2007 NBS Silverado 1500 crew cab with 3.73 gears, 4 speed which i drive everyday but also use it alot for hunting in the fall and spring mostly on mountainous logging roads. Goes through a good amount of snow in the winter as well.

Ive always wanted to do the BDS 6 inch lift with 35s (love the look) but after reading through some threads I see these trucks might not be made to accomodate 35 to easily. If i were to do the 6" lift i wouldnt be able to re-gear for quite a while but I would deffinately look into a BB tune. Other wise maybe just do a 4" with some thick 33s.

I dont need the fastest truck in town or nothing but it needs to be a truck for me and be able to climb well and i dont want to loose all the power by putting 35s on. Ill loose some gas milage too but not sure how severe it would be

If anyone can speak from experience or give me advice on the best set up for what ill be using it for it be appreciated

He doesn't have torsion bars.

To the OP, you should be able to run those 35's with a 6".....as long as you're smart about the offset/backspacing on your rims.

6in BDS, 35's look, ride and preform well on stock gears and motor, in my mine. only thing i have different is 6 speed, which i hear helps alot tho. I too dont really care to be the fastest or quickest in town. i think you would love it. It is kind of a gas hog tho, im only getting about 12 mpg with my set up, but its not my DD and i only have 2000 miles on it so far.

Leaman24 your truck is exactly what i had in mind, the six speed probly does make a difference but i wonder if a tune would make up for that.

Indeed they do. Op, a tune will not make up for the loss.

Do you have an 07 classic (body style like mine), or an 07.5 (body style like everyon else that has posted)? If you have an 800 serries, you should be able to fit 35s with a minimal 3"bl and leveling kit. A 6" would be better to clear them though. If its a 900 serries, I think your only option would be for a 6".

ya sorry bout that its the 2007.5 like the rest of the guys pictures, i realize im going to need a 6" to clear 35s which is totally fine i just dont want to feel like i sucked the life out of my truck as i wont be regearing for it least a year, obviously performance will go down but im just trying to get a feel for how bad it is and if it would be sufficent for my hunting needs and stuff

also have the rc 2 inch level on there but its still a pretty low truck

Yeah the whole NBS, NNBS, Classic thing is kinda confusing. He didn't call his truck a 2007 Classic.....and for some reason my brain put another 'N' in front of 'NBS'....so I assumed he meant the new style '07. Guess I just got lucky....even a blind squirrel finds a nut every once in a while.
